Oblate Sisters of Providence

The Oblate Sisters of Providence are the first congregation founded by women of color to minister to persons of color:

One of their foundresses separated from the congregation, and helped found the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Michigan.

They have a sister with an Hispanic name, so the membership may not be restricted to women of color.
